Yurok Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Project

The Yurok Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Project Crisis Worker/Advocate works directly with the domestic violence shelters and service providers in Humboldt and Del Norte counties to provide services to clients, assist with outreach and education andemergency response. The advocate also assists clients with navigating the legal, civil and criminal court process, including obtaining and enforcing protective orders. The Crisis Worker works to make services more accessible to Native American women, provides a cultural perspective within the system in an effort to enhance existing services.

The Tribal Youth / Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Program will be selecting 10-15 peer trainer's in grades 8- 12th to be trained in a variety of health related topics.
